Carmina Burana with the Modesto Symphony
The MSO’s final Classics concert of the season will have us all celebrating! This program will celebrate the MSO’s 95th season, the Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra’s 50th season, and the Modesto Symphony Orchestra Chorus’s 25th season. This finale showcases one of the most well-known pieces of the 20th century, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. This bombastic epic combines powerful brass, rich harmonies, and the full force of the MSO Chorus.

Beethoven and Klebanov with the Modesto Symphony Orchestra
Beethoven’s radiant Violin Concerto, featuring the brilliant Simone Porter, stands alongside the United States premiere of Dmitri Klebanov’s poignant Symphony No. 1 “In Memoriam Babi Yar”. The evening concludes with John Williams’ moving A Prayer for Peace—a timeless reminder of music’s power to inspire unity and hope.
The Music of Led Zeppelin at the Curran Theatre
Conductor Brent Havens will direct a 27-piece San Francisco Conservatory of Music Orchestra alongside a rock band comprised of musicians from Windborne Music, delivering a two-hour performance with an 18-song setlist that includes Led Zeppelin’s most iconic tracks such as “Stairway to Heaven,” “Heartbreaker,” “Black Dog,” and “Immigrant Song.” Arranged by Havens to embody the raw intensity of the original recordings, this program reinterprets the groundbreaking sound of the British rock legends, merging the fervor of a hard rock ensemble with the powerful support of a large symphonic orchestra.
